One of the best 4WD trips I've done to date was a few weeks ago, up the mighty Wilberforce River.  My cousin and I loaded the Jimny up with all the essentials needed for a good weekend away. We made sure to take the Weber BBQ, an EzyUp awning, chairs, tables and a whole bunch of other things that are unnecessary on such an adventure. But it was worth it. The weather forecast was bad, a southerly was set to come through on Saturday. Friday night we set up camp on the riverbed, which was awesome. It was a calm night,...

A few months ago I spent a day at the Waipara River, and learned that it's a great river for exploring in a Jimny. Lots of river crossings and very few challenges that could cause any damage.  I put the word out, to get a bunch of local Jimny owners together and have a day at the Waipara River. Tons of fun! Keep an eye on my Facebook Page for more adventures like this, everyone is welcome.     And a massive thanks to my mates Daniel and Norman in their badass Jeep, they came along to help with any...

I don't mean a 4wd Subaru Legacy, I mean something capable of getting up some steep loose gravel....

Adventures, Fishing, Marlborough -

Over the Christmas holidays, we went camping with the Jimny. I spent a few days fishing and exploring the furthest reaches of the Sounds. Hunting for fishing spots was easy with the Jimny, there is never any need to carry gear down to the beach, I just drive down there and park on the beach!  We explored right up to Bulwer, which is 77km of winding, most shingle roads from Rai Valley. I've never known 77kms to be such a long trip, it's about a 3 hour journey. Bulwer is the home to just one (super friendly) family, but is...
