The Jimny is a legitimate 4WD — not a soft-roader wearing a costume. Narrow enough for mountain passes and village streets. High-clearance enough for gravel roads in snow.

Day 1
Collect from our central Christchurch location — a quick taxi from the airport. Head west on SH73 within the hour.

Turquoise glacial water against white peaks. Stay two nights — it's a dark sky reserve, so the stars are extraordinary.
↔ 3.5 hrs from ChristchurchDay 9–10
Wind home through Oamaru and Timaru — a completely different landscape. Sea cliffs, limestone, golden farmland.
Day 1–2
Snow starts here. Kea parrots, frozen waterfalls, the dramatic Otira Gorge. Only 90 minutes west, but it feels like another world.

New Zealand's highest peak rises from a valley you can drive to. Book two nights. This is the centrepiece of the trip.

Day 7–9
The ski capital of the South Island. Coronet Peak, Remarkables, Cardrona — all easily accessed in the Jimny.

Flying from Singapore or Asia?
English-speaking roads, clear signage, left-hand drive. New Zealand winter is June–August — the same time Singapore and Hong Kong are hot and humid.
Direct flights, no transit
Singapore Airlines and Cathay fly direct to Christchurch. Collect the Jimny the same day you land.
Snow you can actually drive to
No ski lifts required. The mountains come to the road. You can stop anywhere for photos.
No crowds — genuinely
Winter is low season. Mt Cook in July has almost no tourists. Lake Tekapo at sunrise is just you.
International licence accepted
Singaporean, Hong Kong, and most international licences are valid. No conversion needed.
