On the eastern banks of Lake Benmore lies Black Forest Station, an 8,000ha sheep station. With very little rainfall, Black Forest Station is high and dry.  The track through Black Forest Station runs from the station homestead at Haldon Road right through to the Benmore Hydro Power Station. It's about a 3 hour trip at a leisurely pace with a few stops for photos. The Suzuki community is awesome - tons of great guys and girls that all share a common interest - getting our cars dirty in some very remote places. I put this day together to encourage people to get out into the mountains and learn a bit more about the capabilities of their Jimnys, and to see some of the amazing landscape that the Southern Alps have to offer. Since the first successful trip into the Havelock Valley, we had added additional shelter in the form of a large marquee shelter. One of the best 4WD trips I've done to date was a few weeks ago, up the mighty Wilberforce River.  My cousin and I loaded the Jimny up with all the essentials needed for a good weekend away. We made sure to take the Weber BBQ, an EzyUp awning, chairs, tables and a whole bunch of other things that are unnecessary on such an adventure. But it was worth it.
